Norman Wicks, Sr. and Norman Wicks, Jr. are two homeless people who live in their RV around Santa Barbara, California. Their YouTube channel, Normwicks, documents the sort of tomfoolery they get into on a day-to-day basis. Most of their videos are of them and police officers arguing about their illegal parking, and the father's attempts to get the privileges he believes he deserves in public areas because of his disabled status. Even though his son can walk just fine, they both have service dogs.
Both were featured in a May 11, 2000 article in the Oregonian titled poster-child characters, no fairy tale ending.
In his video "LIZARD SHERIFF" Wicks Sr. reveals he believes in shape shifting reptilian creatures.
On November 7, 2013 a video titled LIZARD SHERIFF was uploaded. The attached description reveals the father's past.
Norman Wicks, Sr. has post-traumatic stress disorder and dissociative amnesia that resulted from sexual abuse as a child when he attended Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, NY and St. Colman's in Watervliet, NY.
In 1970, Wicks was arrested for a crime he was unaware of.
On March 30, 1980, Wicks was arrested in Laurelhurst Park in Portland, OR. Police were called when Wicks and his 4 year old son were in a car together. Wicks was severely beaten and arrested for a parking violation. Wicks claims his back was broken by the police.
Norman Wicks, Sr. has not been arrested in 30 years. Norman Wicks, Jr. received a misdemeanor for sleeping in a vehicle.
Wicks, Sr. has been on on Supplemental Security Income since 1989 and is diagnosed with syringomyelia and severe arthritis.
